# WhatsApp Rate Card
> Per-message WhatsApp rates by country, in USD and INR
Once a message is charged, the rate depends on **your customer's country** — read from their phone number's country code, not from where your business is.
Your billing currency picks the **tab**. Your customer's country picks the **row**. Never the other way around.
Example: a business billed in INR sending a Marketing template to a UK number reads the **UK row** on the **INR tab**.
**The rates below take effect October 1, 2026.** Until September 30, 2026:
* **Service messages are free.** Read the Service column as 0.
* **Utility templates inside the 24-hour service window are free.**
* **17 markets bill at different rates** — every rate that moves is listed in [the October 1, 2026 entry](#october-1-2026) under Rate card history.

Countries not listed fall under the **Other** row at the bottom of each tab. To find which row a specific phone number bills at, see [Country calling codes](/pricing-and-billing/whatsapp-pricing/country-calling-codes).
In the tables below, **bold** marks a rate that changes in the October 1, 2026 update, and a **\*** after a country name means it becomes its own market in that update — until then it bills at its regional **Rest of** or **Other** rate.

**About the Service column.** Service messages are your free-form replies inside the 24-hour service window. They're free until September 30, 2026. From October 1, each business phone number gets [1,000 free service messages a calendar month](/pricing-and-billing/whatsapp-pricing/overview#your-1000-free-service-messages-a-month); past that, each one costs the rate in this column, which matches the Utility rate in every market.
## Authentication-international rates
The Authentication rates above assume you're sending the passcode to a number in the **same country** your business is based in. Send across a border into one of 18 markets — across South Asia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia — and a separate, higher **authentication-international** rate can apply instead.
It only kicks in once all three are true:
* Your business is based in a **different country** than the recipient.
* Meta has deemed your business **eligible** — triggered by sending more than **750,000 messages outside the service window in a rolling 30-day period** to these markets, counted across all your WhatsApp Business Accounts.
* The message is delivered **on or after your start time**, which Meta sets 30 days after you become eligible and tells you by email.
Eligibility is **permanent**. Once Meta deems your business eligible, the authentication-international rate applies to every cross-border Authentication template from your start time onward — even if your volume later drops.
**Most accounts are never affected.** 750,000 messages in 30 days is far beyond typical Gallabox volume, so nearly every account only ever pays the standard Authentication rate in the table above.

## Rate card history
Meta only changes pricing on the first day of a quarter — January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1 — and gives at least one month's notice. Newest first.
### October 1, 2026
Two things that are free today start costing money:
* **Service messages** begin billing at your customer's Utility rate, after the first 1,000 per phone number each calendar month.
* **Utility templates sent inside the 24-hour service window** begin billing, from the first one. The 1,000 allowance doesn't cover them.
Marketing and Authentication templates are unaffected — they're already charged.
**Eight markets change rates:**

**Nine markets become standalone:** Bangladesh, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Morocco, Nepal, Oman, Sri Lanka and Ukraine. Until October 1 each bills at its regional **Rest of** or **Other** rate, per the [country calling code mapping](/pricing-and-billing/whatsapp-pricing/country-calling-codes); from October 1 they bill at their own rows above. Bangladesh, Iraq, Nepal and Sri Lanka get **lower** Utility and Authentication rates than their old regional rate; Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman and Ukraine get **higher** ones. All nine also gain an authentication-international rate.
No existing authentication-international rate changes.
### July 1, 2026
Nine markets moved out of their regional rates onto standalone pricing: Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Singapore, Spain and the United Kingdom. Poland's rates went down; the rest went up.
